Because pandemic means drinking wine again with friends is a special occasion, time to break out some good Burgundy. I don’t have many bottles of Premiere Cru Burgundy, but this one felt like it needed drinking this afternoon. Right off the bat it had an incredible bacon and smoked meat aroma that was pretty alluring, with flavors of raspberry and black raspberry tinged with herbs and forest floor. Fairly rich and robust on the Burgundy spectrum, but gorgeously silky and balanced.

2010 red Burgundies are very impressive, classic Pinots--this Bruno Clair knocked our socks off with its perfect balance and superb structure--WOW!

Great gevrey Chambertin! Oak was well integrated, strong minerality and expressive nose. I need to start picking some of these up.
