Impromptu Mourvèdre face-off. Super crunchy red fruits with the classic D&R spice/incense. Pure and joyful but, incredibly, lost the battle on this night.

Really nice wine! Just now starting to open up after 40 min decant. Showing more on the palate than the nose...tastes of red berries...leather...bacon fat...wet gravel..nice balance overall! I opened this early..but not disappointed!

@Hardy Wallace #HardyInTheHouse at RawWine LA - Didn’t get a snap of it, but the ‘16 Shake Ridge Mourvèdre was one of my favorites of the day.
