Delas Frères
François de Tournon Saint-Joseph Syrah

Great QPR, the Delas Saint-Joseph François de Tournon Rouge 2011 displays baritone aromas of ripe plums, reduced blackberries, anise, wet embers, fruit cake and a a billowing smoky undertow on opening. It's equally glorious in the mouth, I especially like the interplay of tannins and acidity. It's well defined, black fruit bolstered by cedar and Garrigue, I'm enjoying it on its own, certainly, it has the potential to age over the next decade or so. Highly recommended.

Trying to get my liver up to speed for the after math of Rob Knowles tenure talk tomorrow.....this Hermitage is a straight down the middle, no-nonsense northern Rhone Syrah.....as expected, not big on the front end, rounded, Slightly tanic and great finish......tobacco, leather and almost blueberry overtones...delicate yet satisfying for a reasonably low price point
