De Venoge has one of my favorite and solid line ups from their N.V. up through their Louis XV line. This particular chardonnay based Cordon Bleu is unique and beautiful. Brut but not on the more bone dry side. On the nose is the lovely smell of unpasteurized honey with beeswax, spread on a freshly baked English muffin, with some lemon undertone, mousse, and fig preserves. Definitely one that even people who say they don't prefer brut champagne do enjoy! If I could drink a true champagne day to day in this price range, this would be one of a select few I would choose!
