So layered and complex. Plummy and cassis with a core of dusty earth and sweet menthol. Reminiscent of Pauillac. Probably has another 8-10 years. 85% Cab Sauv, 15% Cab Franc

Wow. Great color. One of the best so far. Hallelujah for "off" vintages.

Wow! Some complex, green-spice meets dark, dank fruit going on here. No more oak noticeable and not as rich as expected.

2000 vintage. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Respectable amount of sediment. Still dark as bleep. Still medium-heavy body. Baby fat gone but plenty of the impressionistic, frontal mix of dark/sweet fruit remains. Finish initially had hints of aged Bordeaux but this stretched out over time into an elongated highlight. Would be a tough one to peg in a blind tasting. Currently drinking half new world/half old world. Personally would have guessed a 10 year old Super Tuscan. Wouldn't hit this again for another 5-7 years in hopes that the half this/half that impressions would resolve/unify. 8.31.23.

An excellent Father's Day wine. For it's age, there's still some fruit and it coats your mouth. Cigar box and cedar on the nose.
