Columbia Valley Merlot

Dry. Minimal legs. Prefer Markham Merlot at a similar price point.

It’s kind of bland for a merlot. It reminds me of a Pinot. If you don’t like strong merlots or are new to wine, this would be a good start. It’s soft and light.

Tall grass. Smooth. Nice spice for a merlot. Not overly sweet. Paired well with dark chocolate. Would buy again.

Full bodied being a merlot but not dry. I don’t drink a lot of Merlot but liked it for a change.

Not our favorite.

Well, when you get something for free you really shouldn't complain...but maybe so when the other wine shared by a random stranger sitting next to you is way better. Found this merlot to be underwhelming and not much to write home about, but the other wine - just WOW! (Pic in the next post!)

I like Washington State Merlot and this is a good representation. Lovely color balanced flavor. At only $11.00 from Safeway it's a excellent wine

Suuuuuper easy to drink. Great taste. Could be paired with anything.

Plums on the nose. On the palette it hits hard with red fruit. Prominent plum and raspberry taste. Medium plus tannins. Really sticks to your teeth. Otherwise generally soft finish. Medium oak and mouthfeel. Not sure I'd buy again
