The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Badia a Coltibuono is a very pretty wine with lovely aromatic nuance and plenty of character to match its mid-weight personality. Crushed flowers, mint, lavender, spice and black cherry are all finely knit in this attractive, mid-weight Riserva. Fresh and energetic, the 2016 will drink nicely for many years to come. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2019)

Medium dark rubi, nose of crushed flowers anise and pepper. Modern styled but not overdone, we found no excess. Very approachable but lots of potential. No rush to drink. Excellent with food. We also had the 2017. Good stuff.

Outstanding bottle of wine. Black cherry and spice on the nose. Paired well with food.

Certainly fine on its own and went very well with a pork ragu... but I need to try more Chianti. I still haven’t had one that really knocked me out. This one smelled amazing but the taste (complete with a touch of balsamic vinegar) was more of a ground rule double than a home run.

Lovely bright red color. Strawberry and even a bit of a tropical fruit on the nose as it opened. Vibrant dark red cherry and a woody herb. Sky high acidity for a sangiovese. Medium body...maybe even on the lightish side of medium. Nice cranberry note at end and a slightly dry finish. Bit of a strong presence on the alcohol but it works together so well. Doesn’t overpower. Balanced, overall. My favorite Chianti Classico in recent memory.
