This wine is both brawny & brainy. Also, I'm under the impression that the 2011 Laurel got all of the Clos Erasmus fruit. If so, this is a stellar deal.

This wine is always better when I can drink it with Daphne. Sassy.

Laurel 2011 is a blend of 75% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
No Clos Erasmus in 2011 so all the grapes went to the Laurel!

A wonderful nose with ripe black fruits, cassis notes, herbs from the hills of Gratallops, tobacco, earth, fine cedar, mocha, medium to full bodied with layers of ripe fruit flavors, Llicorella, creamy notes, delicate melting tannins, impeccable balance, vanilla, a snowflake of dark chocolate on the long long aftertaste ! 95 DSP

Still bold, drinking well. Throws some sediment at the end but overall excellent!

Frescura, hierbas y madera todo junto con levadura pronunciada. Una delicia. Quique Dacosta, junio de 2017.
