Clos Du Val, French for "small vineyard estate of a small valley," was founded in 1972 in the now legendary Stags Leap District by Franco-American entrepreneur John Goelet. Aromas berry fruits and pepper notes. Flavors of ripe complex red and black berry fruits, vanilla and cacao. Fully integrated tannins, well balanced, lingering ending with espresso tones. Great value.

Yummy! I'm pairing this handsome little guy with grilled streak and potatoes. It's the perfect way to kick off my birthday weekend!

This paired nicely with a steak from Bob's, but after seeing AGalloni's review for the '13 being outstanding, I need to get my hands on one.

A perennial favorite that over delivers Napa in a Bordeaux style.

Ruby color. Black fruit, plum, black currant, cassis, earth, cocoa, and violet. M- acid, M+ tannin. Menthol, Briney, dried herbs. Needs a little time but balanced and lovely.

Nice effort. A little short on the depth and finish but an enjoyable wine.

On fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, motherfucker.

(Best if enjoyed by intonating in a Samuel L. Jackson fashion)
