Château Teyssier
Le Dôme Saint-Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Today was my annual hosting of the Wednesday Wine Committee. There was 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert, all provided by me. Tasted blind, as always.
Wine number four in a flight of four Cabernet francs. Bordeaux is all over this (as it should be) with the more delicate and savory herbal notes next to some leather and pepper spice. This is probably beginning it’s prime drinking window (where I’m sure it will remain for a good while). Showed a lot of complexity. Most guessed left bank cab blend. Not very tannic, solid acidity. Old plum, black cherry core and dusty graham cracker highlight the aromatics. There is a mix of red and black licorice on the palate next to bay leaf and cocoa dusted dates which works really well.

A little heavy and extracted with noticeable wood and heat. Different than my prior notes on a different bottle.

Oct 28th, 2020Enjoyed for Christmas. This one should have been popped after the kids opened presents and enjoyed 9 hours later. Really, what this one needs is about 7 to 10 more years in bottle. Took 30 minutes for funk to blow off. After that there was a blackberry core and some truffle, earthier middle, very tannic and peppery finish. Still on the muted side. This rating is halfway between my experience yesterday and the expectations of this one 7 years down the road. Still has a LOT of life left.

The 09 was stunning & 2010 a 💯 pointer but @ £85 is this 08 any good? Oh yes baby 👍 thanks RP for downgrading 🤑 Good now but a 95-96 in 3-5yrs 😎
🍇 75% Cab F & 25% Mer
🍷 Opaque ruby red
👃 Gravel & mineral driven black fruits w/ forest floor, liquorice, smokey oak, herbs, dark red flowers & farmyard hint
👄 Med+ bodied smooth mineral/lead/gravel & mocha infused dark fruits galore w/ fine dry tannins
🎯 Long earthy black fruit, mocha & mineral linger

Blackcurrant and floral notes are most prominent. Interesting spices. Full bodied. Well balanced - probably even better if aged longer.

This is my very favorite vintage. Concentrated without overwhelming. Cashmere in a glass. The first bottle I opened was drank in one sitting over a couple hours. I literally could not stop. Kept delivering on and on and then it was all gone. ❤️❤️❤️
