I had to remove this gem from my wine fridge to make room for some new additions. This wine was a pleasant surprise. It had great black cherry, herb, boysenberry, beet and plum on the tongue. I also got some coffee and cigar box notes followed by waves of acidity. This wine is a #qprsuperstar @Ted Corvey a must buy.

The last of the Total Wine world tour is a right bank Bordeaux that is a 70-15-15 Merlot-Cab Franc-Cab Sauv blend. The Côtes-de-Castillon AOC was originated in 1936 and enjoyed protected designation of origin until 2009 ; it is now of a geographical name within the appellation Côtes de Bordeaux. Paired this with an unctuous risotto for Christmas Eve and was not disappointed, especially at the excellent price point. ~$14 | #totalwine #bordeaux

On the eyes: Brick-brown with orange rim, bright with light stain, med legs. No gas/floc.

On the nose: Cocoa nibs and overripe plum with a hint of mint, med alcohol.

On the tongue: Med+ acid, med tannin, med alcohol, med body. Plum, coffee, cola, and oak. Not too complex, med finish. Nice table wine.

Medium body (for a Bordeaux), vanilla, not plumby the way many similar priced Bordeaux's are
