Bought in saint emillion, released from domain, this took a while to open but then had nice balance, nose and finish. Not lush but not bad after 20 years

The 2001 Château Rauzan-Ségla lacks charm and elegance. Medium garnet, the nose displays aromas of earth, dried strawberries and cherries, cedar and mushroom. On the palate, the rather chalky tannins and pronounced earthy flavors contribute to a rustic character. The body is medium, followed by a relatively short finish. Although balanced, this wine clearly is a few years past it's prime. Drink now.
