Coffee, chocolate/mocha and a whole bunch of red fruit still very present on this almost twenty year old wine. Tannins still definitely there with red fruits starting to mix with secondary flavours on the palate. Frightfully as a new world dominated wine drinker this wine still bucket loads of potential.

Tar, charcoal, dry tobacco leaves, eucalyptus, old leather, ashes, plum, dark cherry, red dirt road on the nose; med + acidity and med tannins. Wonderful!

The 96's have a ways to go. This was almost primary. Starting to get that bit of perfume-on-leather stuff going, but firmly tannic on the finish, with moderate length. Was in SF for a conference and picked this up at K&L for dinner with friends

Very good. Still a lot of life and fruit left in this wine.

It started out with lots of funk but with air, the fruit began to emerge, acidity softened, and tannins stiffened. Worked well with our hanger steak.

Lovely bouquet and still holding up, paired like dynamite with seared duck, cherries and fig dish.
