Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Earthy nose of blueberries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, green pepper, black tea, green vegetables, dirt, forest floor, black pepper and spices.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and long long legs.

Dry and earthy on the palate with blackberries, black currants, earth, wood, licorice, spices, forest floor, green pepper, vegetables, vinaigrette, herbs, pencil lead, black pepper and leather.

Medium finish with round tannins.

This is a young Syrah blend from Languedoc. Very earthy with lots of green notes. Still unbalanced but has nice complexity. A good food wine.

Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show some tannins. Needs another 3 years in the bottle to mature.

I paired it with soft and hard cheeses.

I'll need to leave some aside for a day and see how it develops...

15% alcohol by volume.

The earthiness upon opening the bottle surprised me. I then picked up dark fruits and licorice. The finish was nice with soft edges. Not what I was expecting at this (cheap) price point - great wine for a cookout.

Very good, smooth wine. We had it with BBQ chicken and salad with Chipotle dressing. Stood up well against the spicy food.

Maybe past it’s prime. I just brushed my teeth but this isn’t standing out any.

Ok, fairly grippy. Better with food, just ok without food.

Beautiful ripe fruits on the nose, and very floral. Very balanced with light tannins, with good fruit notes. Woodsy, flowery, and spicy. Quite lovely!
