Placeholder as just opened but it’s yummy! And it stayed yummy. Fruit upfront. Good on the mid pallet. Great finish. Sadly bottle went empty quickly. Young has decades on it. And probably will come together even more.

Pontet Canet tasting and dinner with Alfred Tesseron.

Certainly one of the better 2011’s I’ve had. Drinks nicely early considering 2011 was not a stellar vintage.

The body is lean. The fruits are bright and ripe. Lean blackberries, lots of both cherries, strawberries, strong presence of dark spice with heat, crushed dry rocks, clay and bright fresh florals.

Photos of; the group tasting, their Amphora style cement tanks they ferment part of each vintage now, road signs of the good neighbors they keep and Chateau Pontet Canet.

Not quite ripe yet. Also not worth the price (yet). Fine wine nonetheless.

Really elegant. Pretty tightly wound--but small bits of cedar, plum, red flower, potpourri, tobacco and leather jacket manage to make their way through. Love love love this chateau.

Shows so sweet. Weirdly sweet. I don't know if it's bc it's at the end of the tasting but tastes modern and forced
