Medium gold in the glass, this wine smells of custard and orange and vanilla. In the mouth, wonderfully silky orange oil, vanilla, and rainwater have a bright creamy quality that is pretty sexy.

Two thumbs up on the 98 beautiful layers of quince, white flowers and almond paste. The 99 was poorly stored and way to oxidized.

As always, bringing the best of funk to wine. Musar is showing just as wonderfully as ever!

Cigar box, spicy nose, spice, light meaty umami on the palate. Short flash of 85% chocolate

Well balanced and complex with intense red and blackberry fruit + leather, cigar box + barnyard from a strong dose of Brett that, while a flaw, actually adds to the wines complexity.

Two bottles from sommselect. First was overwhelming Brett, and while this one also has Brett, it complements the wine well (strangely). A really enjoyable wine with red cherry, black currant, subtle cigar box, pepper, dried leaves, and barn yard.

Still young but starting to get into the zone (a 25+ year zone TBH) for Musar. 1998 has a delicious earthy nose of mushrooms, truffles, and a bit of leaves. Palate is a little green about 75-90 minutes after decanting. Works well with a bone in ribeye and mushroom fricassee with raw egg and garlic butter.
