Punching way above it’s class and reputation (in this vintage).

Whatever words I would use to describe how amazing the 96 was with our Prime Rib Roast last night would simply fall short & never do it justice.

The evolution that took place in this bottle after 21 years was never conceived by anyone tasting it upon release or young. It has made a epic leap and simply heaven on the palate.

Oh...as a friend of mine was always fond of saying...”The Prime Rib Roast didn’t suck either!”

I wanna do this again real soon. OMG!!!

Still processes me this morning.

Recent purchase that was a direct import from the Chateau - Négociant

Happy New Year! 🎊🎆🎈🍷🍾🥂

The other “lynch” makes good wines in great vintages, I just learned.

The unsung wines of Bordeaux go deep. This 21 year old had so much refreshing cut and sweet black fruit to give! A 750 of claret like this is far too small, especially at 12.5% alcohol. #steakandclaretnight

Sure, not the best of the vintage but rowdy to drink, nice complexity. Quite pleasant

Still plenty of life left, but use the Durand
K&L notes as follows, it is better than their 2000! We have been following the property for the last five years and we think it is on a great track with their new releases, but try this 20+ yr old beauty. It is elegant and has a long, lingering finish. Smokey, toasty aromas, tons of cassis fruit on the palate. In a blind tasting at K&L (January 2019), one of our top Bordeaux staff thought it was a first growth Pauillac from the 80s. A steal at this price.

1996 vintage. Green pepper, cherries, currants on the nose. Tart fruit on the palate, still good acidity, soft tannins. Really pleasant to drink.

96 still holding up well with fruit, soft tannin and tarry notes. Good with steak.
