I enjoyed this treat mostly for my love of dissecting the old withered cork, and because I felt like a mad scientist decanting this into snifters with family and friends for Christmas. It is an Uber sweet Sauternes. Great for a dessert pairing. FULL of large oak barrel and berry fruit flavors, although the complexity shifted to a stale over the hill sour finish toward the bottom of the bottle. At 35 years old, having been hidden behind a wood pile in the basement the entire time, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I'm happy to have enjoyed what I did before it turned.
