Bit musty, but the fruit is still coming through strong — 52 years later

More Phuket beach wines - this time a legendary 1970 Latour. Bottle opened and sat for 2-3 h before consumption. Nose is brilliant- a little brett, tobacco, cedar and hints of red berry fruits. Palate was complex with still some red berries, cedar, tobacco and loads of mint. Certainly very interesting but slightly over the hill at this point, at least this bottle was.

Very Latour with a solid core of fruit and still has tannins to resolve. This is what aged first growth should be. Better with more time in the glass. Fun to drink with good friends. From Magnum 🍷🍷
