Pours dark. Herbal and savory, would remind me of Nebbiolo if it had some tar and roses. Fresh and bright without being a fruit-bomb, and with some sophistication lent by the herbs. Rosemary, mint, and some grassy notes intermingle. This is a biodynamic wine, grown by Marie Belevier. 85% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc, aged in 50% new oak for 15 months. Unfiltered.

Rich and luscious 2001 Pomerol from Gombaude Guillot- a tiny, organic, family owned estate run by the granddaughter, Claire. The soft plummy fruit is cut with a streak of minerals and plenty of finesse.
