2017 vintage. 100% merlot. Smoky and plummy with a little cassis. Fairly gratuitous but lacking that upper-end, back palate finish/concentration. Cheap Chicken Monday. Still…pretty decent and would crush again for the $7.99 price tag. The inexpensive stuff is always front-loaded. Could it possibly be back-loaded instead? Asking for a friend...4.3.23.

Plain label. But classy in a way. Very dark color. Smells dense and forestial. Wet stones too. Flavors are juicy and complex. Rainwater and cherry 🍒 pits. Hints of coffee and dark chocolate 🍫 . Black strap molasses. This is a classic French 100% Merlot Bordeaux. Good for the French wine lover in your life.
