Wow, this is amazing for a 12-year old Cotes du Rhone. Nose almost reminds me of mature Bordeaux (good shit, not regular Bordeaux). Cedar, earthy, dark spicy blackberry, iodine. Totally resolved and balanced in the mouth, with a remarkable fruit presence for a 12-yr. old. Tannins still there but super soft. Good acids. Just wow.

Lots of big fruit in this second wine from Beaucastel, one of my favorite CdP producers. Mourvèdre, Grenache, cinsault, and Syrah blend. Delicious! Still has a few more years to get better so glad we have more.
