Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The weakest of the set of three, still viable but a little to celeric and slight decay.

By the glass, so a previously opened bottle. Obviously been open. Light with good fruit. Small oak. Think it’s been open too long.

Mild, fruity, slight tannin. Great table wine for a good price.

Smooth with a slight dry after taste. My husband picked today's wine and honestly, it was a little heavy for summer (would have been perfect for a Thanksgiving dinner). We but paired it with a variety of cheddar cheeses (sharp, aged and English onion) and grapes.

Wonderful find on the Ahwanee hotel wine list. Fruit forward with soft tannins and perfect with their signature prime rib.

Good, solid. But I've had better at this price point. Not as fruit forward and lush.

The third wine in our tasting tonight. It is much more like a sweet Zinfandel. Which are typically not sweet. There are hints of sweet blackberry pie and raspberry with spice. Not as sweet as the zin of the evening, it is too sweet for a good cab! Please see my reviews for the other two reds...

Nicely balanced. Not very oaky. Hints of cherries and dark fruit.

Deep berry, dried cherry, plum, currant. Some chocolate nose. Mildly astringent and not a big finish on opening and nice astringency, mild acidity, and good finish after about 30 minutes. Overall, big and balanced with pronounced Cabernet Sauvignon character. Open early or decant.
