"Odedi"

Dark golden in color with a honey tint.

Interesting nose with honey, red apples, spices, citrus, lemons, light tropical fruits, pears, melons, light diesel and white pepper.

Medium to full bodied and buttery, with medium minus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, honey, apples, bitter herbs, pears, spices and a touch of rotten citrus fruits.

Long finish with bitter almonds and spices.

What a nice surprise this is. This 11 years old, Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc, is still kicking. It lost some of the acidity by now, but gained interesting complexity in return, and became spicy and creamy.

Good by itself or with food. Better in the first hour, as it became bitter and lost acidity after that. This is my last bottle. Good timing.

I paired it with smoked salmon and capers.

14.4% alcohol by volume.
