Nice wine with an avocado. Needs air, not a pop and pour

Crunchy core of red fruit, typical good acidity.

I decanted this for a while. The initial nose was a burst of blue fruit but, later, on the palate its mostly red fruit flavors. Very vibrant, fresh, and with good acidity. Some tannic grip but accessible with some aeration.

Violet cherry pie with a nice spicy finish. Day two brought a little earth, softened fruit and a continued stemmy, spicy finish. Not as deep or as long as TG or Elliot, but one of the best generic Sonoma Coast AVA wines out there.

Raspberry, red currant, hints of spice. Lightly floral on the nose. Silky tannins. Very juicy and crushable. Reminds me of French Burgundy.

Very similar to a young cru Beaujolais from a top producer. Although meant to be enjoyed before the single vineyards, suspect this will be better in six months to a year.

A rich 2015 rendition of costalina. Lacks the delicate touch of some of their better bottlings.

I keep telling myself I'm going to stop buying AVA level / blended pinot because one has to have limits. But then I crack this, with a 3 hours decant, and get a young, lifted, fresh wine that still shows off the concentrated sappy sweetness that is 2015. Is good!
