Popped and poured. The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo “Maggiur” pours a pale garnet color with a watery rim and a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with moderate intensity redolent of tart red fruits: raspberries, strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, dried roses, dried herbs (but not enough for you to go to Sangiovese), sandstone minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Full bodied. Alcohol is medium. Confirming the notes on the nose. Finish is medium+. An elegant, pretty expression of Nebbiolo. Really lovely. Drink now with some patience but this should drink well through 2028.
