Calera Wine Company
Ryan Vineyard Pinot Noir

After leaving it about 4 hours open... This wine gave me a flashback. Way back in school while backpacking Europe, I bee-lined to the hospices de beaune. Armed with the supplied tastevin, I remember having the ‘78 Echezeaux. And being floored. I said to the old guy there... “wow... this is way better than Bordeaux!!!” He laughed something in French which I took as “you betcha”.

Balanced stone fruits, minerality and tannins. Perfect compliment to fresh trout on the grill.

Truly atypical of Calera. No discernible nose and tasted flat. Having had other Ryan's, chalking this up to a dud bottle.
