After leaving it about 4 hours open... This wine gave me a flashback. Way back in school while backpacking Europe, I bee-lined to the hospices de beaune. Armed with the supplied tastevin, I remember having the ‘78 Echezeaux. And being floored. I said to the old guy there... “wow... this is way better than Bordeaux!!!” He laughed something in French which I took as “you betcha”.

Truly atypical of Calera. No discernible nose and tasted flat. Having had other Ryan's, chalking this up to a dud bottle.
