Cade is a fave of mine. This vintage is no exception. We were spoiled by the Gaja and Palmer.

Deep purple in color. Dense and extracted nose of black and blue fruit, licorice and dark chocolate. Weighty and masculine in style with pronounced ripe fruit, cedar, saddle leather and coffee. The tannins are big and grippy and the finish long with hints of pension shavings.

Airport wine 🤷🏼‍♂️ As a side note, if anyone has recommendations on food or wine stops in eastern downtown San Francisco, let me know.

First time having Cade. Actually, I’ve not had any of the 3 that I’m sampling. Seeing Cade is from Howell, I figured it would be my favorite...and it was. The Raymond didn’t need much air, and the Mount Veeder would have been my favorite if the taste was as divine as the nose. This Cade needed about 20-30mins to come alive. Texture softened but those mountain tannins gave it strong backbone. Definitely black and blue fruit dominant with espresso and dark chocolate notes. Would like to try a whole bottle of this and see how it develops.

So consistent. Oodles of texture, depth and balance. Lovely notes of black fruits, coffee, buttressed by firm tannins. We just love this bottling.

Another stunning 2013 example. One of the best from 13 for the price.

5th day of our 24 day cruise into the Amazon. Wonderful veal tenderloin was great with the Cade Howell Mountain selection. Went to the Napa Valley Howell Mountain tasting last year and this was our favorite!

Deep purple red with concentrated aromas of black berry fruit and subtle spice, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot. The palate blackberry, plum and cacao flavors with pepper and cinnamon, very complex, with cedar notes. Well structured with firm tannins, great mouthfeel on a lingering finish ending with earthy tones. Elegant and Nice! Will age well!
