From Comte Liger Belair vineyard, “Aux Reignots,” sold under the Bouchard label. Wow did I pick the long straw in such a great bottle in really, what could have been a toss up in what to expect. But I guess it’s all about where it’s from! It flaunts lovely aromatics of potpourri, dried violets, sous bois, dark chocolate and sweet raspberry fruit. Most impressively the palate shows plenty of density and structure, opposing the vintage, with a soft elegant texture and a lifted and persistent finish. Lovely.
