Brilliant new value wine by Bonny Doon, Ramdall. 81% Syrah, 16% Viognier , 3% Grenache. It's N Rhone rooted with classic olive tapenade, white pepper, smoked meat, nose, but with other nuances. On the palate the Viognier gives a wonderful lift, black fruit with a round mouth coating mid palate, soft tannins and lingering finish. Acid that dances on the tongue. A wine that demonstrates how with Rhônes the sum of its parts is greater than the whole. Hats off, Randall. A steal at $25.
