Still youthful but at a very expressive stage. Succulent and vivid dark red fruit with cherry (red and black), menthol. Almost syrupy in its intensity and some odens’ and pencil lead notes on the long finish. Really superior stuff.

Such intense concentration for a wine of 17 years--opened w powerful dark fruit, blackstrap, and vanilla bean paste aromas. Over a few hours developed into some gamey leather, roasted coffee bean, dusty old cigar box, and shriveled red cherries and prunes. This one needs the whole evening to shine--don't waste your time or money if you're only gonna see the first act!
