Canary bubbly- Fresh, rose tinted yeast, that Canary acidic vitality, fine mouse. Has a sophisticated vibe. My only caveat- a first for these wines- over 30$ so not a wacky value. But I can see why.

A lean style of sparkling Malvasia, but quite refreshing in its purity. I gotta say, this is my first encounter with Canary Island bubbles. Pretty cool.

Sad to say this isn't my kind of bubbly. It's fresh apples and slightly toasty. It's well done but just not my cup of tea. Don't shy away from it though if you're a bubble junky.

Not unlike the still version, this rendition of Malvasia Bianca, albeit with bubbles, is muted aromatically (you can barely stretch your senses for the usual touches of white flowers & citrus/orchard fruits). A clean mixture of stone, steel and a sneaky bit of fennel-scented salumi along with a mysteriously familiar savory note that I can't quite place; it finishes with a welcome dose of bitter salinity. The aforementioned still version of this wine was a workhorse for pairings at my last gig. While we enjoyed this one minus food, I'd be willing to bet this would be equally adept at the dinner table.

Fresh, bright apple, maybe some tropical fruit too, lingers beautifully. Yay for the islands.
