Paired nicely with local wild mushroom pizza. Inky red, highly extracted pigment, too dense to assess clarity. Black currant, herb, eucalyptus and maybe violet notes in nose. Black currant tartness and flavor with length, eucalyptus in mouth, soft mouthfeel. Slight seed bitterness, minimal skin tannins left. A pleasure to drink, an interesting exhibition of Tempranillo’s varietal character

Solid. Predictable. Perhaps a recipe but hits the spot. In a good place at 10.

Smell that coconut? Can you taste it? Tons of new American oak.

Big Time Brett - took an hour to dissipate evolving into barnyard & manure. I gave up but then tried later where it yielded some black fruit, black olive, leather and a hint of spice, but then Brett came crawling back. Very odd - I’ve had this wine before but this bottle /vintage was way off

Deep dark garnet. Dusty leather forward. Black olives, mushrooms, hint of not quite ripe blackberries. What to do? A bite of chocolate opens this up. Creamy cheese on crusty bread with jam or honey? It begs for contrast. And perhaps more opening up. (I had this with a 1/2 muffuletta take out from Napoleon House. Good -). I’m working it through...
