Set on roughly 13 acres, the Wirtz Vineyard is located in Gaston, and is planted to 40-year-old Pinot Noir vines. Not needing any air contact, this opens right up and releases its seductive aromas that grip you immediately. On the palate this marvelously textured Pinot Noir possesses a silky mouthfeel that glides effortlessy through the mid-palate as flavors of red and dark fruits connect with earthy and citrus tones. This amazing Pinot Noir from winemaker Brian Marcy has it all and while it is showing sensational right now, it should also offer a drinking window that spans a decade or more. Drink 2019-2033- 94

Honestly, more smoke than fire. Enticing aromatics, but no follow through. The Emperor's New Clothes...don't believe da' hype!

Last bottling from Wirtz for Big Table. Rich red cherry, wet dirt. Complex and tasty.
