Dark purple. Very opaque. Notes of black cherry, mocha, leather saddle and some brett funk which mostly blows off. Good fruit. Nice balance. Not sure it gets much better from here. But has another 10 years in front of it.

Dark scarlet. Opaque yet vibrant in the glass. Attention grabbing nose. Notes of black cherry, mocha, tobacco, pencil lead, freshly cut oak, some black licorice and a little black pepper. Silky fruit in the mouth. Still has some pucker. Really good wine, I remember tasting this on release and being impressed. This still is on the upswing of its life but was very enjoyable today. The nice surprise of the day.

Another 4th Friday for the books. What a much needed time out of the house and to be with friends after this past week.

En mag! A stellar open by
@Mark Flesher . I haven’t had many Beringer PR, and I think this was my first bottle en mag. Mushroom and tar up front gave way to new leather and a red fruit/black fruit medley. Very Bordeaux-like at this age. I’m sure Mark will add to this with a better description!

Cassis, Leather, Smoke, Spice, Blackberry, Mint/Menthol and still some nice tannins shilowing... Very nice hold in the cellar 10 yrs+ bought at the winery and still has plenty of life... More classic Bordeaux like drinking at this stage!

01' Beringer Private Reserve. All consuming nose ( left bank) Color- Deep red👍. I'm getting primarily red fruits, with a splash of some black fruits, tobacco leaf ...earthiness to it .This still has quite a bit of acid to it...this from a 16 year old wine. Long silky 45 second finish. Drinking in its peak, with another 5/8 great years in it. I don't see it getting much better at this particular time. Lovely wine.

This PR has years left on it. Cedar sawdust, pen ink, coffee grounds, blackberries, graphite and violets framed on a deceptively Ahhnold-like body.
