Still great fruit, aromas turning gamey/savory. Yum!

Opaque violet color with beautifully aromatic plum, blackberry, cassis, spice and hints of violet aromas. On the palate, it's full-bodied, fresh, intense, and elegant with blackberry, and spice flavors. Some nice minerality as well...Long finish.
Field blend of about 65% Zinfandel, the rest Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, Carignane, Mourvedre and assorted red and white grapes, all planted in 1880.

Decant before drinking. Really evolves and opens up after 1 hour (plus there was quite a bit of sediment). Rich dark fruit and chocolate but not over extracted.

Our dinner guests wanted more and were ready to toss aside subtle wines. This did well even with pop and pour.
