The soils near BF. Open top fermenters covered to keep away the fruit flies. They named this wine after the grand 59 Burgundy vintage as some say this wine reminds them of that Burgundy vintage. The last vintage from this vines as they will be torn up due to phylloxera in the vines. They say it takes five years for phylloxera to ravage the vine. With treatment, they got 10 years. With Oregon still a relatively young region, I was surprised that it wasn't on American rootstock. Bright lean strawberries, rhubarb, cranberries, cherries, beautiful florals, nice chalk and super soft minerality.

Big wonderful Pinot Noir, great body, great color, raspberry and spice hopefully holds for a few more years as only #2 of the case!!!

Elegant and refined Pinot Noir. Medium color and weight with a long smooth finish complemented by dark berries, Forrest floor and casis.
