Riserva Ilico Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Spicier / bolder nose than what comes through on the palette. Soft, smooth, light and approachable for essentially any meal. I almost wish it had more character but I think is a crowd pleaser because of its "easy going" nature (LLoyd)

Color of purple mixed with brown note, just a bit hazy, and a bit dark ruby color at the bottom of the glass. Nose of nice balsamic vinegar, some leather, marginal grassy note and slight berry note. Not impressed by her nose. Taste of polished tannins, berry, and young cherry, strength of zest, peppery, and some graphite and sulfite note. Aftertaste of zest and white pepper, quite light, but not much more. I was expecting more from this wine. While the taste is nice and refreshing, the nose is quite missing.
