Aromas of Cherry earth and mineral. Barely medium weight on the palate with light Tannins. These wines are designed to be drunk from vintage to about 5 years. No point in further cellaring - a fabulous food wine.

Mid crimson in colour. Nose of cherry and other red fruits. On the palate barely medium weight. More red fruits on the palate with a savoury twist. Fresh and juicy texture with supple fine Tannins. No need for further cellaring. 60% Nero d’Avola, 40% Frappato. Made for food.

Mid Ruby and initially not giving much on the nose. After a while in decanter and vigorous swirling barnyard and red cherry notes showing its “natural wine” origins. Very savoury on the light to medium weight palate. 8 years is about the maximum for a naturally made wine in my experience. Visited this winery in Sicily several years ago and saw their earthenware pots (amphorae)in the ground where the wine is fermented and sits on skins.

Nero d'Avola and Frappato in roughly equal measure aged in clay amphora. Cherry as the name indicates indeed, as well as strawberry immediately and currants with 2 or so hours of air. A lot of floral notes up front reminded me of Barolo, especially with the mineral notes and the silky, but firm tannins. This is the best wine in a while for me from Sicily not from Mt. Etna. I am looking forward to trying more from COS and Occhipinti who is the "O" in #COS. #sicily #frappato #cerasuolo #docg #amphora

Thin, uninspired on its own. Perked up a little bit with food

Mid Crimson. Aromas of Cherries, Herbs, Almonds with Earthy Minerality. Barely medium weight on the palate. Medium minus intensity- totally designed to accompany food like most Italian Wine.

I can't say enough about this wine. Just so light yet dense with flavor. My goodness. This is a delicate yet crazy complex wine. All of the red fruits and some blue! Tons of minerality and funk. Absolutely delicious.
