Azelia
Bricco dell'Oriolo Dolcetto d'Alba
Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy

Popped and poured into a bota bag; poured into chalices and free-poured into mouths as I played the role of Dionysus at a Greek god themed dance party. The 2022 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of primary black and blue fruits, mixed florals, anise and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. I love the fresh, crunchy fruit. A perfect wine for revelry! Drink now through 2030.
