Ruby coloration with some translucency. On the nose, cherry, vanilla, warm spices, balsamic, leather and oak. On the palate, medium to fuller bodied, cherry, strawberry, vanilla, balsamic, oak and florals, with a certain softness and richness. Medium to longer finish. Good tannins. Revisited with a meal consisting of brasoto al Chianti con pappardelle. Beautiful pairing. Brought out notes of chocolate, smokiness and molasses and brought out the fullness and richness of wine. The wine and food really elevated one another. E180 at winery.
