The 2019 Averaen Pinot Noir is smooth and open-knit, showing good clarity and seamless texture to the appealingly sweet red fruit flavors. Subtle tannins make a quick appearance before fading into the lingering, juicy fruit. $20.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2022)

Ok but more of a tart cherry flavor. Good for the price.

Light, nice. Strawberries, not a ton of depth. Good daily drinker.

Really good Pinot. Enjoyed with the mole and chicken dinner by Kurt and Sarah.

Cherry cola aromas, light on the palate, bright acidity, tart black cherries, peppery lingering tannins. Definitely fruit-forward, not as earthy as I'd expect for a Willamette pinot.

Only a few weeks after tasting this at my new favorite Houston restaurant, I was delighted to see this at Costco for ~$15. Same tasting notes apply; my thoughts here are it’s a commendable balance from a lightly extracted elegant style and a more forceful richer style reflected in a lovely creamy texture. Plenty of tension preceded by those aromatics beg for food pairing so no surprise this wine graces the smart sommelier wine lists. A once in a lifetime pandemic might be the reason the #willamettevalley #pinotnoir lover gets to buy this at a bargain retail price while also enjoying it at a fine dining restaurant.
