I don’t drink a lot of petit sirah, so I don’t have much basis for comparison. I did love it, though. Fruit forward, a bit musty, but in a good way. I was looking for something a bit off the beaten path, and I got it.

Great valued #petitesirah stereotypical color. Very shiny, oily appearance. Aromas of dark wild berries. Lacking tannin, TA is more prominent. Flavor is front loaded. Full bodied, light cassis and trace of tart grape.

Has opened up nicely.

Lots of dark tart fruit up front, but of old rag and earth and Spivey finish. Soft with some vanilla and sarsaparilla. An honest wine, if a bit lacking in tannins and structure.

First time...not bad. Big fan of Petit Syrah. Lots of fruit up front, but a nice spice to it as well! Nice drinkability for a midweek meal...chicken pot pie as entree and a strong/pungent Brie from Calvados as a pre-dinner nibble. Played well with both.

Slight tart, and sweet. Red bean paste is what stood out.
