Brief tasting notes from the annual Fort Worth Food & Wine Festival. Whites knocked it out of the park this year.

@Delectable Wine : This is the Archery Summit Eola-Ammity Chardonnay. Wasn’t in the database.

This is my first Oregon Chardonnay. Loved it! Very mineral driven. Not over oaked, lots of white flower, honey, and wonderful acidity.

The palate confirms the nose with mineral and citrusy aromas of limes, pears and green apples. Well-balanced acidity. 12.8% ABV. A very refreshing chardonnay from the Eola-Amity Hills in Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA.

The pioneers used the name Eola as a reference to the aeolian harp. A wind instrument named after Aeolus, the Greek god of the wind. The gap in this area of the Willamette Valley ushers in howling winds from the Pacific Ocean which are then trapped in the Coastal Range. Cheers!
