Mendoza Malbec

Deep Ruby red color, purple edges, aromas of jammy dark fruit and floral pepper spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry fruit with spice. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ length ending with fruit, cacao and sweet spice.

Maybe better once the steak is off the grill. (Edit: steak came out perfect but the wine still not great fit for me).

Smokey. Sour/bitter in back palette. Best paired with meat.

A nice dull red, has a hint of what seems like olive in the back which I’m not a fan of

10/14/23 - with lamb, sweet potato mash & brussel sprouts with prosciutto!

Pretty mild tannins compared to the 2019 catena Zapata. Mild acidity. Not very complex but pleasant. Little bit of fruit and maybe some cocoa

Nice entry for some cheese and salami. Not a great wine but for the price it is worthy

Put it this way: I wouldn’t pour it down the sink if someone gave it to me, but I won’t spend money on it again. It has a stripping mouthfeel and a bilious afterburn.
