Fantesca

Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

9.3

At its zenith right now. Lots of tobacco and barrel toast on the nose.
Cinnamon and spice box on the palette. Very well behaved in the glass. Great textured finished with 14.5% alcohol!! Great Napa example...

Stone fruits, lime, white flowers, and faint hints of petrol. A very luxurious mouthfeel, with a long finish highlighting the incredible purity of the fruit in this wine. A simply remarkable expression of Riesling! I am not one who often comments on the color of a wine, but I must say that this particular wine is a deep flaxen gold that I have not often seen.

St Innocent Winery

Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

My favorite of a spectacular profile tasting this evening of St. Innocent wines. Shea, Zenith, Momtazi and Vitae Springs all great and distinctly different in 2011, 2010. Showed a melange of red and black berries with elegant but persistent spice, great aromatics and racy acids. — 12 years ago
