Light and spicy but deep color and smooth finish — 9 years ago
Pomegranate juice, florals, and brown butter in the aroma. High acid upfront that turns into a sweet tomato taste. There’s a vegetable, herbal note that is very familiar but I can’t put my finger on. Floral tobacco and a juicy grapefruit acid on the finish that lingers on the tongue. Pretty interesting and evolving tasting experience. Definitely needs to be tasted on its own as it’s complexity could be over shadowed by food. — 4 years ago
Mmm. . . The family picked this up at a tasting at our new favorite butcher shop. More on the sweet side for a pinot but still flavorful. Hmmm may have to check my Napster for an accompanying Zac Brown hit for ambience. — 6 years ago
Oww... didn’t have much Petite Sirah before...
Tar, charcoal, chalk and clay.. all about structure... very tannic upon opening... underneath all that, there are signs of black fruit, brown spice, damp earth, anise and school paint.
Sturdy and strict, yet interesting..
A couple of hours of aeration softened this wine significantly! Up two notches! — 7 years ago
The brown eyed SIL rocked in with this fantastic bottle of taste sensation ... is there such a thing as a bad crianza/Rioja.. well it ain't this.. it's rare I think wine enhances food but with a barbecued steak it is heaven.. so many flavours that my palette can comprehend... this is a NADAL — 8 years ago
Excellent blend I had one from Napa many flavors and smooth silky finish. — 9 years ago

Brown sugar, plum, currant and licorice. Very nicely integrated oak. — 6 years ago
Deep golden hue with tinges of brown. Aromas of baked pear, honey, and almond. Medium bodied with good acidity finishing with some phenolic bitterness. Michael Scorsone crafted this terrific wine from 100% Sauvignon Blanc fermented on the skins. Would drink now as it’s quite oxidized at this point. 13.5% ABV. $35. — 6 years ago
This wine has easy going (perfect for a Friday night) and everything you expect and want from a GSM. Brambly fruit, brown spices, leather on the nose, cherry on the finish. Warm, cozy, soft acidic touches, eaz-y sipping. Delicious. #SonomaStrong — 8 years ago
Curiosity got the best of me. Parker rated this 97 points and a local wine shop managed to get 1-2 cases and at $34/bottle, it was a gamble I was willing to take.
Color me surprised and impressed. 45mins-1hr of air time and 👌. Very purple in color, but the wine wasn't as heavy as it looked. Big aromatics...maple syrup, caramelized brown sugar, blueberry jam, faint smell of smoked meat. Very "pure" front and mid palate...nothing was overbearing or dominant one way or the other. Silky texture, rush of blue and black fruits, earthiness, toasted oak and milk chocolate. Very Napa cab-esque. Could see how some would think it was too extracted, but it doesn't touch a Caymus 40 in that category. At $34/bottle, this is a show stopper. Not worthy of 97pts, but probably the best sub $40 bottle of cabernet I've come across from Cali. — 8 years ago
One of the truest great, individual and distinctive American whites. Always a treat when Saxon Brown does it. France has nothing on this Semillon! — 9 years ago
