Xarello is one of those grapes I feel a kinship with. Clearly, I must have lived in Catalonia in a previous life. A waxy, honeycomb explosion with sea salt. It held up to a fried prawn head with chorizo. — 8 years ago

Fresh and tight bubbly español! — 5 years ago
Læskende, let oxideret og (æble)frugtig vin, med en velgørende stram syre og et lækkert mineralsk touch. Fremragende til grøn mad. — 5 years ago
Salty, wild and a neverending pleasure. — 6 years ago
Honeydew melon, mango, sea salt, acacia, honeysuckle, gardenias, beeswax. Rounded acid, medium bodied, juicy-oily texture, long floral-salty-slightly bitter finish. Mineral driven, briny, excels with food, balances texture with salty-floral notes. — 7 years ago
Favorite of the night. Think Chardonnay meets Roussanne. Terrific. #lovespanishwines — 7 years ago

Cava tastes a lot more like champagne than Prosecco, so if you don’t want to pay a fortune for your NYE wine, this might be your preference. Where Champagne is bread-dough yeasty, this is as well, but it is BOLD in its yeastiness. There are in yo face aromatics because this is edgy and harder than the other options here, which makes the smells bounce out of the glass. Want a big start to your new year? This is what I would toast with. Repeat after me: THIS YEAR WILL BE MY YEAR! — 9 years ago

Spanish whites are probably the most under rated in the wine world. I love the 100% Xarello. Pear a little spice crisp clear and a wonderful finish — 5 years ago

My favorite Cava. Nice complexity and minerality. — 7 years ago
Raventos i Blanc was founded in 1986 by Josep-Maria Raventos, a member of the Codorníu family, produces a majority of very nice sparklers, makes a few nice still wines. Pale yellow with stone fruit aromas and mineral notes. On the palate apple and lemon flavors with savory minerality on a lingering finish. Very nice value. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
