Wow, just wow, this is simply one of the best wines I have tasted. Toasty nose, big and rich without being heavy, perfect with everything on the table, awesome experience! — 6 years ago

Roses, camphor, leather and deep tobacco fruit. A tart and game midpalate. This is serious and beautifully balanced. Wow — 5 years ago

Wow! So perfect — 8 years ago
Such beauty and elegance. I'm sure some of it is the age, but an AOC known for power emitting such elegance...Wow. Anyhow, jammy raspberries and a whole garden of vegetables on the nose. Palate is quite refined with white pepper, rock and all the trademark CDP flavors. Im never a huge fan of that fruit in the front, but the mid and back arr gorgeous. What's truly remarkable is the balance...The ability to isolate any single flavor to ruminate on, how each nuance to perfectly morphs into the next. Still some pronounced tannin in this guy! — 8 years ago
Not my usual jam but wow. Perfectly evolved claret. — 10 years ago
Pours clean dark purple into the glass showing no age. I'll be damned if one couldn't enjoy the dark fruit aroma from 5 feet away. Wow. Dark fruit, leather and pleasant oak quality supplemented with a silky tannic structure that gave a 60 sec finish. Not the most complex Latour I've enjoyed at this point but this bottle actually tightened up over an hour after opening indicating much life ahead. Sheeeit! — 10 years ago
Wow! I love old Rioja...who doesn't though?! — 10 years ago
Wow. This was amazingly fresh with dried herbs and tobacco. Balance and finesse. Loved it! — 12 years ago
Wow, one of my favorite wines. Very big and should be left to open up, loads of black fruit - black berry and black cherry with a little rose and a lot of spice. Really a wonderful wine that goes great with any steak! Enjoy. — 6 years ago
It's not everyday you get the opportunity to drink Montrose. Wow. Quintessential Bordeaux. — 8 years ago
Spectacular! Mind blowing. One of my top 10 of all time. On every serious wine lover’s bucket list, and here we had a nigh perfect bottle. While aromatically a little recalcitrant, you still got some of the Margaux violets and potpourri on the nose, hints of clove, all trying to shake off their doldrums. But on the palate, it was timelessly ravishing. The finesse, richness, balance and smoothness, with an underlying, almost flabbergasting mixture of complexity and delicacy, was just astonishing. The finish is marvelously sweet and intense, with chocolate and cassis and utterly seamless tannins. This is a miracle of wine making and an exaltation of vintage and terroir besides. Wow! And bravo! We can only pray for an encore of such a wine. — 9 years ago
Certainly not a favorite of recent, but this one is prettier than expected…if you're in search of a wow factor, look elsewhere, you won't find it here but it's really easy to drink and really overpriced. — 9 years ago
With all its age this is such a complete wine. Wow. — 10 years ago
Great wine! Took about 45 min to open up but when it did... Wow! So amazed with still having black fruit flavors behind the cigar and moroccan leather! — 11 years ago
Joe Loughran
Man I forgot what a beast this wine is. Amazing fruit, beginning as dried and prunish but w air turns brambly, then more reddish. A bit of heat on the backend is tempered well by food. This wine is still showing young, I’d say entering prime drinking window. Wow. — 5 years ago
