Quite good for a dry, balanced red. Paired excellently with The Heat (2013) starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. — 9 months ago
Nice complexity of aromas. — a year ago
Ripe, round, dark fruit and elegant without a whole lot of complexity. Easy drinker — 5 years ago
Blueberries, cherries with a slight smokiness on the nose. Garnet color. Medium acidity, well balanced and a clean finish. — 6 months ago
Amazing wine. Aroma is honeydew, apple, pear, apple blossom, honeysuckle, orange flower water, and even a hint of minerality in there. Palate has the same notes in the aroma, wine is a bit sweeter than I usually go for but not unbalanced with the acidity. Took down two bottles of it and could do more. Will drink again — 8 months ago
Dry and very classic tasting Riesling. Wet stone, lime, honeysuckle, green apple, green pear, flint, and the faintest hint of petrol. Clean with high acidity, medium alcohol, light body and a terrific compliment to food. I had it with tuna tartare and it was a knockout. Terrific value. — 2 years ago
My first of 7 bottles from the 2015 vintage and the ultra close planted Issan vineyard of 5 Hectares planted 9000 vines per Hectare. Rich red fruits with bunchy earthy notes. Not quite as impressive as the 2013 vintage (see previous Delectable notes) which Philip Jones called a freak wine. Medium to full bodied. Lots of fine tannins. Have the remaining bottles every year for the next 6 years. — 3 years ago
End of Vintage lunch 2021 at Fino Vino. — 4 years ago
I thought is was a nice crisp citrus with good body and acidity. It actually held up well with a pork chop and sauerkraut. — 5 years ago
Love it! Used in pasta bolognese, also. — 5 years ago
Brief notes. Great Pinot from the Giant Steps Applejack Vineyard are an annual event these days. The 2023 vintage has just been awarded Halliday’s Pinot Noir of the year. This wine was pale to mid crimson. Red cherry. Essence of Pinot Noir and one of Australia’s best. The reputation set up by Steve Flamsteed and carried on by Melanie Chester and the new ownership in the USA. Sweet sappy red fruits. Medium weight. Very good. — 8 months ago
Bass Phillip is arguably the best producer of Pinot Noir in Australia so you would expect he would produce an excellent Chardonnay - and he does. This had full buttercup yellow in colour. Big and generous - rich and buttery with ripe fruit and integrated oak. Some notes of pear amongst the stone fruit. Somewhat old fashioned in style. — 3 years ago
A nice semi sweet wine that is not too dry — 4 years ago
Light cab sav. Easily drinkable without food but would also be great with steaks. This would please anyone. — 5 years ago

Always a tasting highlight having a Bass Phillip Reserve Pinot Noir the leading Pinot Noir in Australia although the competition is coming. See previous Delectable note. It pours a medium red with a distinct tawny edge. Barb said red fruits (cherry) and bunchy. I certainly agree on both counts. All BP Reserves are special but the 2012 is not one of the greats. - perhaps a little bunchy, to be ultra picky. — 5 months ago
